Maybe we’re just minions
Obsequious to self,
Servile to flesh.

We give in to the body,
we swarm in its perversions.
We sow chaffs and we await
harvests of gold dust.
Doing the same thing everyday,
And expecting different results.
Wallowing in total depravity,
Engulfed in absolute corruption.

We humans are definitely minions to our bodies. We seek to master our flesh, we crave to have dominion over it but…. we just can’t hold it down. We are subject to pleasures, power, wealth and riches, sin. We give these things power to rule us without even realising it. We offer the things that were actually meant to serve us, the power to rule over us. I’ve seen many people talk about the wonders of the human will, its sovereignty over all things. But does the human will has any of these characteristics? Definitely NO. People have been misled and many have gone astray. Some famous preachers were even caught up in this fallacious web. The human will isn’t enough to master and control the flesh, it is not capable to curb its unholy and enormous desires completely. Man was made perfect, until the devil stole that away. Hence, our fallibility.

Man in his fallen state is unable to do the things of God. He is unable to understand the spiritual truths of the Bible. The natural man is unable to live a faultless life. He is corrupted. The natural man cannot accept God’s grace and enablement that ensures total victory over the flesh and its desires.
The innate ability to obey God has been lost. When man sinned, the glory of God was removed from man’s life.

The only way to keep the body under subjection is through Jesus. Anyone who is in Christ Jesus, who walks in the Spirit cannot be subject to the flesh. He has crucified the flesh – the old man.

“Galatians 5:24  And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.”

Receive JESUS today and be free from all the desires and lust of the flesh. Become the master of your own body. Finally,

“Galatians 5:16  This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.”

This will be the last post of the year. It marks the end of 2013 on this lowly blog. I have a list of quotes here today. Quips from people that have something to say, people that have messages to pass. Through words their voices are heard and this in some ways elicit how important they are to our society. These quotes really helped me through the journey of 2013. They changed my perspective. I now see things from a different and true point of view. I call these lifelines. It’s not too late to take a peep, this list may impact your life in remarkable ways and maybe change how you think. Though, that depends on you.

Laugh at the confusion, smile through the tears & keep reminding ourselves that everything happens for a reason.

Everything happens for a reason. Don’t despair when you face troubles and tribulations for what you believe and hold on to. Someone once said “What doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger.”

Cause change and lead. Accept change and survive. Resist change and die.

Nothing is constant. Change is the only constant thing. In secondary school Biology, we were told that plants and animals try to adapt to different situations and environment. If this is achieved, a process called Evolution is triggered which is dependent on time. You must be a change agent in any place you find yourself. Even if you can’t make a change, accept a favourable change when it comes your way and use it judiciously.

Accept the past for what it was. Acknowledge the present for what it is. Anticipate the future for what it can become.

In a few words this means that the past is gone, accept that you can’t change it. You are in the present, make the best use of it. The future is approaching, hope for the best.

Always speak your mind. Those who matter won’t mind, and those who mind don’t matter.

I can relate to this. I’m a kind of boy who avoids criticism. I’d rather not speak than to let some guy criticize me. However, when I read this quote i changed that notion. Now I speak my mind freely. You could do so too. Remember. Those who mind don’t matter. Those who matter dont mind.

• I pray you love me, I hope it’s mutual. If it’s not, well, then it’s back to the usual

This is an excerpt from a friend’s poem, tgM. So it’s not really a quote. Anyway, it doesn’t really matter. What matters now is what this means. You don’t have to force people before they like you or appreciate you. If they’re ready to welcome you into their lives, then all is well and if they’re not just be at peace with ’em.

When you’re passing through trials and God is silent. Remember that the teacher is always silent when the student is having a test.

Trials are meant to build you. If you suceed in a particular test, you move on to a higher level of spiritual enlightenment. There are some individuals that, after passing through this test, they never understand what God is trying to tell them. Don’t complain about how you have been waiting for 5 years to get a job. God knows about it. He’s well informed. He has greater plans for you. Just persevere. “1 Peter 5:10  But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.”

He sits, he stands. He stands, he sits.
Reflecting, Inspecting, Expecting.
Until sleep overtakes him.
And he’s reposed in his lofty lair.

Stirred in his short slumber.
He’s faced with the same mystery.
He recollects the same distress.

Outburst of thoughts, rising de novo.
Ruminations imploding in abysmal confusion.
Questions unanswered, issues that need solutions.
What should I do?
Where should I go?
Which should I choose?
Money or God?
Good or bad?
Where? What? Which?

Travails of the vocal chords channeled into unspoken words.
The pain of his mind conveyed into inactions.
The will to act, the will to react.
He won’t.
He’s too fear-stricken to take a step.
Racing, soaring, banging.
His heart beats.
His thoughts are jumbled.
All is in confused candence.
The rhythm betraying unity.
The silence betrays his fear.
His expression backstabs his fright.
Until the same fright drives him to action.
At the end, the message is passed.
The deed has been done.
What really matters?
How you pass a message.
Or how I receive it.

Will is greater than fear.
What if it’s fear driving the will in the first place?
What? Where? Which?
The mind of man is in constant war,
Conflagrations overcome its estate.
Will and fear in sour enstrangle.
Right and wrong in bitter discord.
Yes and No in unending schism.
What to say.
What’s not to be said.
What to do.
What’s not to be done.
What is right?
What is wrong?

The mind is a field where these altercations occur. Forces of good and evil. Forces of light and darkness. They all battle for the throne of the mind. Why is it important? What does it matter who wins this war? Why? A word spoken. A thought brought into being. Every action performed. They all will be accounted for.
